Learn how to find the exact phrases your customers search for and turn them into pages that bring qualified traffic.
Keyword research tells you what your customers actually type into Google. Without it you are guessing which pages and topics to create. With it you can build a content plan based on real demand.
Step 1: Start with your services
List every product or service you sell and the problems you solve. These are your seed topics. Also note the questions customers ask you on calls and chats.
Step 2: Expand the list
Use Google's autocomplete, the 'People also ask' box and related searches. Free tools such as Google Keyword Planner and Search Console show more ideas and rough search volumes.
Step 3: Understand search intent
- Informational: 'what is SEO' (people want to learn).
- Commercial: 'best SEO agency in Delhi' (people are comparing).
- Transactional: 'hire SEO expert' (people are ready to act).
Match each keyword to the right kind of page: guides for informational searches and service pages for transactional ones.
Step 4: Prioritise
Choose keywords that are relevant, realistic to rank for and valuable to your business. Long-tail phrases with three or more words are often easier to win and convert better.
Step 5: Map keywords to pages
Give each page one main keyword. Avoid targeting the same keyword on several pages, which makes them compete with each other.
